Who is Para-Port®?

Para-Port®’s Aviation Roots

Para-Port® was started back in the 1960s to address these issues. We quickly took off as a leading and trusted provider of airplane hangar doors that are cost-effective, low maintenance, and long-lasting. We’ve been serving the aviation industry since 1962. Many of our doors are still in service 30, 40, and even 50 years after installation.

In the 1980s, we engineered innovative improvements to our doors to provide a greater efficiency in colder climates. This new design helped propel Para-Port® into hangars across North America. 

In the ‘90s, as the need for larger doors grew, Para-Port® worked hard to accommodate those needs, delivering doors as wide as 150 feet and some up to 50 feet high. We combined forces with Machine Tool Design & Fab to manufacture the mechanical components of our doors. 

Expanding Our Horizons to Serve More Customers

Airplane hangars aren’t the only large buildings that store large equipment in need of large doors. In the 2000s, Para-Port® expanded custom applications of its doors to serve the needs of navy ships, athletic facilities, and more. 

Over the years, Para-Port®’s innovations have worked hard to address the needs of its wide customer base positioned across the globe in various climates. We’ve installed doors in extreme weather conditions, including on military bases in Afghanistan, where the doors have had to hold up under high temperatures and wind gusts of up to 140 mph. Our seals prevent snow, rain, extreme cold, and extreme heat from penetrating your facility. The material we make our doors from allows natural light to filter in while keeping the elements out.

And, most importantly, our doors open, every time.
