For more than six decades, PARA-PORT has taken a different approach to large-opening hangar access—one built around straightforward engineering, dependable operation, and long-term service.

A different idea from the start.

In 1962, PARA-PORT introduced a fundamentally different approach to the hangar door.

 

Instead of heavy rigid panels or side-stacking sections, the PARA-PORT system used a single-panel membrane that rolls upward from the bottom.

The result was a simpler way to open large aviation facilities while reducing structural and spatial demands and keeping major operating components accessible at ground level.

 

Decades of service proved it. 

More than sixty years later, original PARA-PORT systems remain in operation.

Materials, controls, drives, and manufacturing methods have evolved, but the underlying bottom roll-up architecture has endured.

That longevity reflects the principle behind the system from the beginning: reduce unnecessary complexity and design for dependable, serviceable operation over the long term.
